Pre-Paid Funeral Plans

Funeral Plans From Golden Charter

Thinking about your own funeral is never an easy thing to do. However, more and more people want to ease the future burden on their family or friends by arranging and paying for their own funeral in advance.

Funeral costs in the UK are rising every year. While the average cost of a funeral in 2004 was £1,920, today it’s £4,271, an increase of 122%. According to the 2018 SunLife Cost of Dying Report, Golden Charter estimate costs could be more than £7,500 in 10 years’ time. A Golden Charter funeral plan offers an easy way to pay for your funeral service at a cost that is fixed at current prices.

So what does this mean exactly? If you decide to take out a funeral plan, you can ensure all your wishes will be carried out; from your choice of coffin material and style, to the cost of any floral tributes and newspaper notices.

It is entirely up to you whether you pay in full, or spread the cost over a period of between 2 and 30 years, depending on your current age. Additional charges apply, you must be 78 or younger to sign-up to a plan and no older than 80 at the end of your chosen payment term.

Following the latest Government decision, Pentrebychan Crematorium has issued the below statement about the number of attendees at funerals:"With effect from Wednesday 29th December, 2021 we will be required to restrict the number of attendees at funerals at the crematorium. Within the chapel there will be 9 pews available for mourners to be seated, with up to 5 persons being accommodated per pew. Therefore the maximum number of attendees will be restricted to 45. At Alert Level 2, there is also a requirement that people ‘flow before you go’ - that they take a lateral flow test before going out, and especially when meeting others. Whilst there is already an exemption in place for someone who is Covid positive to attend a funeral of a close family member of friend, we strongly advise that If the test is positive they should not attend the funeral and should take a PCR test within 24 hours.
